All children are born with varying degrees of strengths and weaknesses. In music, some children are naturally better at note reading while others are better a memorization; some exhibit a greater facility for developing technical skills while others are more creative and expressive. Rarely are gifted in all areas, but by using a balanced approach that incorporates all of these elements, our program enables students to heighten their strengths while building on their weaknesses. This approach produces players who are excellent technicians yet have a uniquely expressive musicality, and able to read and play with any ensemble. Because of our belief in this approach, all private students at he Kanack School are given the opportunity to participate in all appropriate group classes and ensembles free of charge.
